Holy Priests are great sustained healers that provide strong AoE healing. On top of this, they feature some great abilities for single target and tank healing. However, if you have never played a healer before, it's safe to say that it will be a long while before you reach the point where your class selection matters. me as an average high end keyer would say disc priest is the best healer, with monk/druid having different strengths (strong cc kit and overpowered healing numbers and aoe dps + brez respectfully) that make them strong in specific groups/dungeons. paladin being slightly worse than the 3 but still very viable and preferable if you're strong with it.
